Clean Up Wax From Carpet

Turn the iron onto a warm not hot setting with the steam turned off.

To remove wax from carpet use a knife or plastic card to scrape up excess dried wax. Next lay either a brown paper bag or a clean cloth directly over the affected area of your carpet. If the plastic or wax still doesn t come off try freezing it with an ice pack and breaking it apart once it s frozen. Place a piece of brown paper bag or clean kitchen towel on top of the wax.

Lowest heat turn the iron onto the lowest setting and begin to iron the bag. Remove beeswax from carpeting clothes or fabric using an iron. Laundry detergent may be useful in removing wax from carpet. Cover the wax start by simply placing the bag over an area where the wax spilled.

Using a warm iron slowly press the iron on top of the paper bag or cloth. In just a few seconds the wax will begin to be adsorbed by the paper bag. Place a clean paper bag with no printing or a paper towel over the wax. Place a brown paper bag or card stock over the wax stain and keep a towel nearby to protect the rest of the carpet.

Remove the plastic bag and begin to scrape the wax off the carpet using a dull knife. You may have yielded brilliant results but to really finish the job off well you need to clean the carpet. Run the warm iron over the cloth until the wax melts. The remaining pieces may budge with a little bit of friction.

Dampen a white cotton towel fold it in half and place it over the wax. Press an iron set on high over the towel for 10 seconds. You ll want to keep the iron moving consistently. A hair dryer set to the hottest setting can also be used to remove wax from carpet.

If there are still bits stuck to the carpet afterward try gently scrubbing the area with a carpet cleaner fabric cleaner or rubbing alcohol. The heat will draw the wax out of the carpet and into the towel. You ll see that the material will start to absorb the wax and lift it off the carpet.
